I started this blog to chronicle my achievements and blunders in cross stitch, quilting, crafting, and the like. My goals for this blog are to keep track of my ongoing various projects, to motivate myself to stitch on a regular basis, to hopefully grow a base of readers, to teach what I know, learn some new things, and make a few cyber friends along the way.
The name for this blog came from a long-running joke in my household. Well, it’s not really a joke. More like a not-so-funny story. My cross stitch spot is on the couch in the living room because I like to watch TV while I stitch (and the couch is comfortable). Several years ago, while stitching, I somehow managed to lose a needle while cross stitching. I looked everywhere for that stupid needle! I assumed it had fallen into the back of the chair and was stuck somewhere in there never to be seen again. Boy, was I wrong! My husband “found” the needle – with his foot. He was walking by my stitching spot and stepped on the needle and embedded it almost all the way into the pad of his foot. Needless to say, he was not happy about it! And he made me pull it out, which was absolutely horrific! So from then on, every time I seem like I am looking around like I lost something, he asks me in a not-so-friendly tone if I lost a needle. So the moral of the story is: MIND YOUR NEEDLES and spare the feet of those you love.
Happy Stitching!
